We roast coffee that works in your cup, in your kitchen, in your café

A Word from Us

The story behind our work. What drives us every day, from sourcing to roasting to partnership.

Our Journey to Date

A reflection on where we began, the challenges, and the people who made the progress possible.

From small beginnings to steady growth,

one batch at a time

Great coffee should extract well during a busy morning rush. It should hold up day after day. It should protect margins, support workflow, and bring confidence to the people behind the machine.

That belief became the foundation of Rostco. Founded by Edward Sanrio, Rostco started as a small roasting operation shaped by hands-on experience, sourcing green beans, refining roast profiles, testing extractions, and adjusting based on real feedback from real operators. Every decision was practical.

We weren’t chasing trends. We were building reliability.

What we can

help you achieve

  • Consistent extractions, batch after batch
  • Roast profiles built around your equipment and workflow
  • Supply you can plan around
  • A roasting partner who speaks operator, not just coffee

Where It All Began

Three coffee enthusiasts. One borrowed dream from Singapore and Melbourne. And a modest shopfront in Kelapa Gading that would quietly change everything.

We called it The Caffeine Dispensary. A small roastery and café that ran on equal parts ambition and espresso. Our first roaster was a 3kg Joper, compact enough to fit in a corner, but it produced beans that found their way into cafés and households across Jakarta and Bali before we fully knew what we were building.

Back then, the word “specialty” was still unfamiliar to most. We were learning in real time on how to source, how to roast, how to run a business that depended on getting the details right every single day. We didn’t have a roadmap. What we had was curiosity, and each other.

Those early years weren’t just the beginning. They were the education.

The Leap of Faith

By 2018, we knew what we wanted to be. A roastery. Fully, completely, without distraction.

Closing The Caffeine Dispensary wasn’t easy, it was the place that started everything. But we understood that staying comfortable was its own kind of risk. So we made the call. We shut the doors, moved into a modest warehouse, and upgraded to two 15kg roasters. Allo Kopi was born.

The timing turned out to be fortunate. Indonesia’s coffee culture was accelerating as kopi susu was everywhere, new cafés were opening weekly, and demand for reliable, consistent supply was outpacing what most roasters could deliver. We became the backbone behind brands and cafés that trusted us to show up every week without fail.

Risky? Absolutely. Worth it? Every single bean.

Rising Through Uncertainty

Nobody plans a major business transition during a global pandemic. But that’s exactly what 2020 demanded of us.

We rebranded from Allo Kopi to Rostco. We relocated our roastery mid-lockdown, with all the uncertainty that came with it. And we invested in a 20kg Bühler roaster, a machine that represented not just greater capacity, but a serious commitment to the quality and consistency our partners depended on. We upgraded our packaging line and rebuilt our production workflow from the ground up.

It was hard. There were weeks that tested our conviction. But the pandemic had a way of clarifying what mattered and for us, what mattered was continuing to show up for the businesses that relied on us.

We emerged leaner, more focused, and more certain than ever about who Rostco was built to serve.

Roasting Forward

In 2023, Rostco came back to Kelapa Gading with something more complete: a mini coffee shop and R&D lab designed for collaboration. It’s where our B2B partners come to experiment and testing roast profiles, dialing in extraction, building menus alongside us before committing to a launch.

Beyond café supply, Rostco’s reach has grown. Our product range now includes roasted beans, drip bags, capsules, espresso concentrates, and Matcha sourced directly from Japan and all crafted for consistent performance, whether behind a commercial bar or in someone’s home.

We’ve also expanded into office and commercial solutions: vending machines and fully automatic systems for offices, retail spaces and high-traffic environments where reliable coffee matters as much as anywhere else. The categories have grown. The partners have grown. But the reason we do this hasn’t changed which are quality, consistency, and relationships that go beyond the transaction.

That’s what every chapter has been about.

Built for Real Businesses

As we grew, we grew alongside cafés,  hotels, offices, and partners who trusted us to understand their day-to-day realities. We listened to baristas dialing espresso, to business owners balancing costs, to teams who needed coffee that simply worked.

Over time, Rostco became more than a roaster. We became a partner supporting businesses not just with dependable products, but with shared knowledge, honest conversations, and practical solutions.

Today, everything we do is guided by the same principle we started with: coffee should move your business forward.

One cup.
One partnership.
One step at a time.
