From small beginnings to steady growth,

one batch at a time

From the start, we believed great coffee should do more than impress in a tasting room. It should extract well during a busy morning rush. It should hold up day after day. It should protect margins, support workflow, and bring confidence to the people behind the machine.

That belief became the foundation of Rostco.

Founded by Edward Sanrio, Rostco started as a small roasting operation shaped by hands-on experience, sourcing green beans, refining roast profiles, testing extractions, and adjusting based on real feedback from real operators. Every decision was practical.

Where It All Began

We were just three coffee enthusiasts with roots in Singapore and Melbourne, fueled by a shared dream to build a small-scale coffee roastery. That dream became The Caffeine Dispensary, a humble roastery and café tucked away in Kelapa Gading. Equipped with a 3kg Joper coffee roaster, we started small roastery and serving specialty coffee to our neighborhood, when the word “specialty” was still new to many.

Slowly, our beans found their way beyond our shop, reaching a few cafés across Jakarta and Bali. What began as a passion project turned into a hands-on education in sourcing, roasting, and running a coffee business. Those early years became the foundation of everything we know today.

The Leap of Faith

In 2018, we closed The Caffeine Dispensary, not as an ending, but as an evolution. We wanted to go all-in on what we loved most: roasting coffee.

That’s when Allo Kopi was born. We moved into a modest warehouse, upgraded to two 15kg roasters, and focused fully on production. What started as a risky shift soon became our biggest breakthrough.

As Indonesia’s coffee culture exploded with the rise of kopi susu, demand soared and so did we. From roasting just 3,500 kilograms a month, we quickly became the quiet backbone behind cafés and coffee brands across the city.

Risky? Absolutely. Worth it? Every single bean.

Rising Through Uncertainty

2020 was a year that tested everyone, and for us, it was no different. Amid global uncertainty, we found ourselves in the middle of change once again. We rebranded from Allo Kopi to Rostco, relocated our roastery, and invested in a major upgrade: a 20kg Bühler roaster.

Alongside the new roaster, we improved our packaging systems and production workflow to ensure greater efficiency and consistency.

Moving and rebuilding during the pandemic was challenging, but it pushed us to be more focused and resilient. Pandemic taught us resilience. It reminded us that even in times of uncertainty, growth happens when you keep moving forward, one roast at a time.

Roasting Forward

In 2023, we returned to our roots in Kelapa Gading with something more complete: a mini coffee shop and R&D lab designed to support both creativity and collaboration. This space allows our B2B partners to experiment, test, and refine menu ideas alongside us, from flavor profiling to final cup performance.

Beyond roasting for cafés and chains, Rostco Coffee now reaches homes across Indonesia. Our growing product range includes roasted beans, drip bags, capsules, espresso concentrates, and Matcha imported directly from Japan, crafted for everyday enjoyment without compromising quality.

To better serve modern businesses, we’ve also expanded into office and commercial coffee solutions. Today, Rostco supplies vending coffee machines and fully automatic systems tailored for offices, car wash outlets, retail spaces, and other high-traffic environments delivering consistent, café-quality coffee with ease and efficiency.

As we continue to evolve, one thing remains unchanged: our commitment to quality, consistency, and meaningful connections in every cup, and every partnership.

Built for Real Businesses

As we grew, we grew alongside cafés,  hotels, offices, and partners who trusted us to understand their day-to-day realities. We listened to baristas dialing espresso, to business owners balancing costs, to teams who needed coffee that simply worked.

Over time, Rostco became more than a roaster. We became a partner supporting businesses not just with dependable products, but with shared knowledge, honest conversations, and practical solutions.

Today, everything we do is guided by the same principle we started with: coffee should move your business forward.
